Leadership Lunch & Learn Recap
We had a fantastic Leadership Lunch & Learn on Friday, May 9. Five leaders came together for a thought-provoking discussion about issues that keep them awake at night. Here are some of the key takeaways and resources shared:

  • Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta is a nonprofit legal resource that assists 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organizations in Atlanta that serve low-income or disadvantaged individuals and are unable to pay for legal services.
  • Many leaders are anxious about how to adapt to an administration that is hostile to DEI when their mission and work are designed to advance DEI.
  • It’s crucial to lead and communicate with facts, not fear.
  • Communicating with boards in a politically volatile environment is a big challenge. It helps to focus on the facts. One attendee uses AI to identify and adjust tone of their scripts and emails. Another ED has a trusted colleague who listens to them rehearse and gives feedback on tone and framing.
  • We discussed how each leader approaches board recruitment and how to vet and ensure potential board members truly align with the organization’s mission and values.
  • Use your coalitions for intel, facts, and standing strong in the face of attacks.
  • We discussed co-ED models and how roles are divvied up among two or more leaders.

Missed this Leadership Lunch & Learn? Don’t worry, we have a virtual one coming up on June 6 and a live one on August 15.
