Ten years ago, our co-founders met over lunch at Duck’s Cosmic Kitchen in Decatur. Irene and Betty shared a dream. They wanted to form a nonprofit consulting company that reflected their values as progressive feminist women. They envisioned a collective of nonprofit experts dedicated to helping nonprofits become powerful.
And thus, Resurgens Impact Consulting was born. We started as a team of two part-time contractors with no clients and no income. Just a vision, a commitment to justice and equity, and a desire to support nonprofits that shared our values.
In 2015, Resurgens Impact Consulting was founded on the conviction that nonprofits striving for social justice could benefit from the support of values-oriented consultants who shared their vision for a better world where all of us can thrive. Ten years later, we still believe that. And we’ve also learned a lot along the way—lessons we wish we’d known from the start.
We’re kicking off our 10 Weeks to Our 10th Anniversary campaign with reflections on what we’ve learned over the past decade. Every week, we’ll share a list of 10 items and invite you to join us as we count down to our anniversary on October 7.
