The JustPax Fund offers financial and logistical support to individuals and organizations advancing gender, environmental, and economic justice. The fund encourages proposals that foster critical inquiry, raise awareness, and develop solutions to complex global challenges, aiming to empower passionate change-makers with the resources needed to drive effective social transformation. The Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation – Management Improvement Fund (MN)

Due Date: August 7

The Management Improvement Fund, a special fund of the Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation, supports small and midsize nonprofits in Minnesota by strengthening their internal operations. It offers grants of up to $15,000 for technical assistance and consultation aimed at building organizational capacity, supporting new initiatives, and nurturing BIPOC leadership. Since 1991, the Fund has awarded $7 million to over 470 nonprofits. Interested applicants are encouraged to contact the Fund via email before applying to ensure eligibility.

Lois Lenski Covey Foundation (U.S.)

The Lois Lenski Covey Foundation was established by Lois Lenski, a celebrated children’s author and illustrator, to advance literacy and encourage a love of reading among underserved and at-risk children and youth. Since 1967, the Foundation has supported more than 400 organizations in their efforts to nurture reading skills and provide access to books. The Foundation focuses on providing grants for children’s books to organizations that operate bookmobile programs in the United States. It also supports innovative literacy programs in Baltimore, New York City, Sacramento, and the San Francisco Bay area.

Ohio State Bar Association (Ohio)

Due Date: August 15

The Ohio State Bar Foundation supports Ohio nonprofit organizations through its grant program, funding law-related projects that promote justice and public understanding of the rule of law. Grants are awarded each spring and fall to address specific legal needs in Ohio communities, supporting initiatives such as legal resources, websites, campaigns, clinics, trainings, and more. Norfolk Southern – Safety First Grants (U.S. markets)

Norfolk Southern established the Safety First Grant Program to enhance overall community safety throughout its 22-state network. The program aims to support organizations that directly provide safety services or run initiatives that encourage safe behavior. Grants of up to $15,000 assist first responders and organizations focused on preventing and preparing for emergencies to ensure community safety. Norfolk Southern – Thriving Communities Grants (U.S. markets)

The Thriving Communities Grant Program is designed to promote economic development, support vibrant community life, and provide equal access to basic necessities. Investments support programs that address financial hardship and recovery, mental health and substance abuse, domestic abuse support, preservation of local culture, and the enhancement of community spaces to improve livability and attract growth.

Robert Wood Johnson Foundation – Exploring Equitable Futures (U.S.)

Due Date: October 15

The Exploring Equitable Futures call for proposals from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) aims to support bold, unconventional projects that could transform health equity for future generations. RWJF is interested in initiatives that explore forward-thinking ideas, highlight and address emerging trends impacting health equity, and challenge conventional wisdom to uncover new ways to dismantle structural racism. Projects should focus on systems such as community development, government, healthcare, public health, economic inclusion, health science knowledge, or media, with particular interest in those that introduce innovative concepts or reimagine the health science knowledge system.

Ben & Jerry’s Foundation (U.S.)

The National Grassroots Organizing Program (NGO) supports small, community-based organizations addressing social and environmental injustice in the U.S. and its territories. Inspired by John Lewis, the program offers two-year, unrestricted grants up to $30,000 per year to grassroots groups with budgets under $350,000. The goal is to empower local leaders and promote lasting social change through grassroots organizing.
